I approach my work through an anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist, neurodiversity-affirming lens.
I follow the principles of Healthy At Every Size (HEAS). I use a variety of therapeutic techniques drawn from narrative therapy (stories!), feminist therapy, and relational therapy. This means that I will listen and support you in sharing your stories of struggle.
Together we will collaborate to understand how problems develop and change how they influence your life. This also means I will be authentically me, transparent, empathetic, and may sometimes bring humour into our work. I also may challenge you sometimes, providing you with opportunities to consider different perspectives and ideas.
I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds; however, I specialize in working with women and issues related to their unique experiences, individuals with disabilities, and those who are neurodivergent (e.g., ADHD, autism).
I can work with you on many different problems including:
- women’s health and well-being
- relationship issues
- stress
- anxiety
- depression
- life transitions
- communication
- trauma
- aging
- caregiving/caregiver burnout
- executive functioning differences
- disability/health concerns
- emotional regulation
- burnout
- grief and loss
- autism
- ADHD
- anything else you want to talk about!
I also use education to help you understand how your brain works, theories of behaviour, or how our experiences can impact our lives. Even when I am sharing information, my goal is to be collaborative. You are the expert of your experience, and I can provide contextual information that might help you see your experiences from a different perspective.
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $235/session. Counselling sessions are provided in-person or virtually.
